Oven mittens provide maximum coverage to keep your hands, wrists, and forearms safe from intense heat, splashing oil, and rising steam. When choosing a pair, look for a balance of heavy-duty exterior shielding (like non-slip silicone) and a plush internal liner (like cotton or terry cloth) for comfort and sweat absorption. How to Choose the Right Pair • Cloth: Cloth mitts are softer and easier to bend but can scorch or transmit heat if they get wet. • Cuff Length: Standard mitts protect just past the wrist. If you frequently reach deep into deep ovens or use large outdoor grills, look for extra-long cuffs (13 to 15 inches) to protect your forearms. • Texture: Look for raised ridge or diamond patterns on the palm. This texture prevents slick glass baking dishes or heavy cast-iron skillets from slipping out of your hands.
